Niyaz Zabirov - Parkinson's Disease
NAME: Niyaz Zabirov
SEX: Male
COUNTRY: Russian Federation
AGE: 52
DIAGNOSIS: Parkinson???s Disease

REASON FOR TREATMENT

Niayz first noticed symptoms of Pakinson???s disease in 2009, when he began experiencing stiffness and slowness in the movements of his right arm. It became difficult for Niyaz to carry out daily activities, carry small objects, and write. At first Niyaz thought that all those symptoms were caused by stress and heavy workload.

As his condition was progressing, other symptoms began to appear. Niayz experienced a slowing down in his movements on the right side of the body, his steps became shorter and his reaction became less prompt.

In 2010 Niyaz was diagnosed as suffering from Parkinson's disease.

After diagnosis, Niyaz refused to take Levodopa medication, which was prescribed for his Parkinson condition, and started searching for other treatment options.

Niyaz tried different kinds of medicaments in his native Russia, but those had no positive effect on his condition. After researching different treatment options for Parkinson's disease, Niaz and his family decided to try stem cell treatment. After being found eligible to undergo treatment, Niyaz has decided to undergo a direct brain stem cells injection in Beijing Puhua International Hospital and arrived for treatment in the winter of 2012.

CONDITION BEFORE TREATMENT

Niyaz was admitted to the hospital due to progressive limbs and trunk rigidity.

Upon admission, Niyaz presented with weak muscle tone in all four limbs.

Niyaz was diagnosed as suffering from Parkinson`s disease with right hand involvement. He has experienced great difficulty performing daily chores and it was difficult for him to fold the fingers on the right hand, thus turning into a great difficulty in grasping and holding objects, and writing.

Lifting arms also proved to be difficult for the patient, and he showcased limitations in upper limbs range of motion (could not put the hand behind the back).

Niyaz movements were slow, and he could not keep his trunk upright. Niyaz???s walk has changed; he could not walk straight and could no longer step confidently.

Niyaz`s neck movement was restrained.

In addition, he was often in a bad mood and felt depressed most of the time.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

Stem cell implantation via a direct hRPE stem cells injection into the putamen area, neural stem cells injected via lumbar puncture, Daily IV of medicines, neural nutrition and protection, Traditional Chinese Medicine.

CONDITION AFTER TREATMENT

During the treatment in Beijing Puhua International Hospital, Niyaz`s condition was gradually improving.

Movements range of all four limbs widened, particular in the right hand. At the end of the treatment course, Niaz could hold a pen and write. It became easier for him to raise the right arm up and to put it behind his back.

He showed better control of the right side of his body.

Niyaz`s neck acquired a vaster range of motion, thus helping him to communicate with others more freely (prior to the treatment, Niyaz had to turn his whole torso around, to face the speaker).

Niyaz`s speech and general condition have improved.

With improvements acquired during the treatment Niyaz`s emotional condition has also improved, and he became more active.

As Niyaz???s daughter, Irina, told us: ???Niyaz likes to do things with his own hands and it is very important to him to restore the mobility of his right hand and to remove the stiffness???.

We look forward to hear about further improvements in Niyaz`s conditions.

We will continue to communicate with Niyaz and his family, and will add information about his further rehabilitation periodically.
