REASON FOR TREATMENT
Badreddin started to experiencing numbness and tingling sensation in his feet around 10 years ago. His symptoms were spontaneous, and would repeatedly occur for 10 days, each time. He felt electric waves shooting from his back to his feet, every time he moved his neck. A short time after experiencing his first sympoms, Badreddin began suffering from progressive weakness of his lower limbs. Eventually Badreddin was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
The medications that Badreddin was prescribed with were not improving his condition, so Badreddin's family turned to alternative treatments sources, willing to find a solution, in order to improve Badreddin's quality of life. Finally, the family decided to come to Beijing Puhua International hospital, for stem cell treatment.
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
In 2008 Badreddin was suffering symptoms both in his lower and upper limbs, He suffered from weakness and numbness in his upper limbs and his balance was deteriorating fast.
Badreddin's condition was complicated by spasticity and heel-toe ataxia.
A few years before arriving to Beijing Puhua International hospital, Badreddin's lower limbs became so weak, that he couldn't walk by himself anymore, and he became confined to a wheelchair.
Upon arrival to Beijing, during the examination Badreddin was completely dependant on other for all daily activities. He could not walk or stand without assistance.
Badreddin was suffering from feet flexion with Babinski sign and clonus (involuntary movements) present in his hands and feet.
Badreddin could not move his neck freely in any direction.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
Stem cell implantations combined with daily activation and proliferation treatment and extensive rehabilitation therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy and daily TCM treatments).
AFTER THE TREATMENT
Badreddin was optimistic during the entire duration of the treatment. After the first stem cell injection, he has noticed that his fingers became more flexible. He wass trying to stretch them before the treatment, and now can see the difference.
In addition to more flexibility, Badreddin is also trying to stand up, without assistance.
With the help of physiotherapists, Badreddin worked hard to achieve new improvements.
Badreddin's father was very happy and excited, when he saw his son walking with a helper, for more than 20 meters. It's a big step towards great new achievements, which Badreddin can continue experiencing when he returns to his native Syria.
