REASON FOR TREATMENT
Ahmad is an eight-year-old boy, suffering from cerebral palsy. Ever since Ahmad was born, there was not even one day his parents would not hope their child could get better. Even though his parents wished for another progression, Ahmad's condition became more complicated during the years that followed. Not only has he suffered from further psychomotor retardation, speech delay and hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, in addition he has developed epileptic seizures, which continues to add onto his existing condition.
Ahmad's parents were not ready to give up on him, and since t they could not find satisfying treatment in their native UAE, they started searching for alternatives, and came across stem cells treatment. Without much hesitation Ahmad's family decided to come to China.
CONDITION BEFORE THE TREATMENT
Upon admission, Ahmad was very weak. Ahmad presented with all the range of an athetoid cerebral palsy patient. His neck was soft and he was not able to support his head. Ahmad could not stand, nor sit without help and needed constant support. Since the age of 3 years old, Ahmad has been suffering from brief episodes of epileptic seizures that were poorly controlled by medications.
Although Ahmad could lift his left arm, he was incapable of voluntary movements, and even though Ahmad presented with a deformity in his lower limbs, he also presented with slight voluntary movement.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
Stem cell implantations, Daily IV of medicines, neural nutrition and protection as well as Physical and Occupational Therapy sessions, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture.
CONDITION AFTER THE TREATMENT
During the treatment Ahmad's family and therapists have noticed that Ahmad started to react better to external stimulations.
Ahmad's parents were very happy with his achievements, and have stated that Ahmad has become more sensitive, and his emotional response level has increased.
Upon completing stem cell therapy in Beijing Puhua International hospital, Ahmad would smile, and express his feelings upon successful achievements (for example, while managing to grasp an object in occupational therapy).
With the completion of stem cell treatment, Ahmad's neck balance was better, and his body became stronger. He can now raise his head and hold it for several minutes while in standing or sitting position. Ahmad presented with noticeable changes in his lower limbs, and he now can straighten his knees, which he could not previously.
With the help of newly acquired orthotics, Ahmad is now able to stand for 3-4 minutes while holding the handrail. While in treatment, Ahmad was working very hard in therapy in order to achieve better results.
We look forward to hear from Ahmad's family about his new improvements. Beijing Puhua International Hospital team wishes Ahmed all the best in continuing physiotherapy. |
