REASON FOR TREATMENT:
Abigail Williams began experiencing seizures and suffering from an unsteady gait for two years before coming for Cell Therapy treatment to Beijing Puhua International Hospital. Six months prior to their arrival, Abigail has lost her vision to Batten's disease.
CONDITION BEFORE TREATMENT:
Abigail came for treatment with her parents. Upon admission, Abigail's speech was slurred and slow, and she was often experiencing epileptic seizures.
The disease has affected all Abigail's memory, calculation and orientation abilities. Since Abigail has lost her vision, she was no longer able to see objects, and she lost all light perception.
Muscle tone in all Abigail's limbs was slightly increased and she was suffering from involuntary shaking in all four extremities. Abigail could still grasp objects offered to her, but very awkwardly, due to the shaking in her hands. Abigail was unable to hold a cup for drinking and needs assistance in all daily activities.
Most of the time, Abigail spent her time lying down, lacking the energy to perform any type of activity.
METHOD OF TREATMENT:
Cell Therapy implantations, Daily IV of medicines, neural nutrition and protection as well as Physical and Occupational Therapy sessions, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture.
CONDITION AFTER TREATMENT:
Following Cell Therapy implantation, Abigail's condition has improved significantly and stabilized while being treated in the hospital. During the last few days of the treatment no seizures were noted.
Abigail's speech became clearer and the state of her mood is more stable now, so sometimes she enjoys singing and talking to others. Much to the surprise and delight of her parents, Abigail became more energetic and active.
Improvements were noted in Abigail's eyesight, as she shows reaction towards bright objects and can now tell whether it was day or night. Abigail likes to look out of the windows and is now able to see her bedside lamp.
Abigail's balance while walking and standing has also improved.
She is now able to make some steps by herself and walk for a short while with the assistance of her hands.
Following Cell Therapy treatment, Abigail can pick up objects better than before, since her shaking has reduced. Abigail can now feed herself better, and her parents have reported on better swallowing.
Results of the treatment exceeded Abigail's parents'expectations, and they hope that Abigail will be able to gain more improvements in the future.
