REASON FOR TREATMENT:
The first changes Abdul Wahed had noticed two years ago, were weakness in his fingers. His condition progressed rapidly onto both his hands during one month's time.
Abdul Wahed's condition was worsening in a fast pace and six months later; both his arms were affected by muscle atrophy and slight pain.
As his condition was deteriorating, Abdul Wahed's speech became unclear, which interfered with his communication.
Choking became an increasing concern, as Abdul Wahed would feel difficulty in eating solid food and would choke when drinking. Due to an extreme weakness in his legs walking became impossible.
The only treatment that was offered for Abdul Wahed's condition in his native Libya was vitamins, which did not help his deterioration.
CONDITION BEFORE TREATMENT:
Over time, muscle atrophy was present in all of Abdul Wahed's limbs and throughout his entire body.
Abdul Wahed could no longer maintain his daily activities, due to the muscle atrophy and extreme weakness. He lost the ability to use his hands while eating and walk unassisted. Eventually he became confined to his wheelchair, and required assistance in all daily chores.
Abdul Wahed and his brother could not stand idly by the progression of the disease and decided to try Cell Therapy treatment in Beijing Puhua International hospital.
Upon admission to the hospital, Abdul Wahed was suffering from a progressive motor disability of all four limbs, accompanied by a speech disorder. He was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Mild atrophy was noted in the tongue muscles. Atrophy was noted in muscles of four limbs. Coordination disturbances were noted.
Before Cell Therapy treatment Abdul Wahed was unable to speak clearly and could speak very slowly.
Without assistance, the patient could lift up his arm only to the level of his shoulder. He was able to stand by himself though and had great difficulty walking. He could turn over in a lying position and get up by himself; however, he could not sit without back support.
Sometimes, Abdul Wahed had difficulty swallowing and choked while drinking water.
METHOD OF TREATMENT:
Cell Therapy implantations, Daily IV of medicines, neural nutrition and protection as well as Physical and Occupational Therapy sessions, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture.
CONDITION AFTER TREATMENT:
Improvement in Abdul Wahed's condition was noticed during the treatment daily.
The progressive muscle atrophy was stabilized. Muscle strength in his trunk and extremities has improved significantly. He is now able to stand up from a sitting position unassisted and even make a short-distance walk.
Abdul Wahed is now able to bend and straighten both his arms and do some exercises with dumbbells during his physiotherapy sessions.
Muscle strength, as well as muscle tone has improved in all his body.
Abdul Wahed's quality of sleep has also improved greatly, and he now can get more rest.
We wish Abdul Wahed to keep his improvements, and hope to hear back from him and his brother soon. |
