BEGINNING OF TREATMENT: July 27th 2009

CONDITION BEFORE THE TREATMENT: After suffering a car crash Mark went into a one month long coma. Mark's anoxic brain injury is caused by complications from surgery (removal of a ruptured spleen), which resulted in respiratory and heart arrests. Without oxygen and blood pumped into his brain, Mark's brain was severely injured.
Following a strict physiotherapy regime, Mark was able to restore some of the functions his body has lost, but not enough to regain the quality of life he wishes for himself.
Mark was admitted for treatment as a patient showing cerebral atrophic symptoms (difficulty moving extremities, slow movement, decreased vision and inability to walk (bound to wheelchair) without assistance.
Mark is legally blind, he is spastic in the left side of his body, which limits his motor movements, and requires assistance in daily routines. He had to undergo surgery in native U.S.A; however Mark and his family felt that treatment options were limited for him back home, and after doing a lot of research on the subject they decided to come to Beijing Puhua International Hospital hospital for Cell Therapy treatment, which they hope will give Mark more opportunities to continue and improve his condition.
AFTER THE TREATMENT: after_interview.wmv, PT01.wmv, PT02.wmv, PT03.wmv
During his 5 weeks treatment, Mark has received daily IV of neurothrophic factors, which helped his body to stimulate his neural system while providing it with enough nutrients, improve blood circulation and activate neural cells, combined with neural Cell Therapys transplantation, rehabilitation therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Mark is reporting minor changes following the therapy, mainly with his speech and balance. His muscle tone has increased and his movements are freer. Mark is looking forward to more improvements as he is headed back home to continue his intense physical therapy regime, and hope that the Cell Therapys are going to help him achieve all the goals he has set up for himself.
